BVSD leadership has proposed closing Mesa at the end of this school year as a response to declining enrollment. The Board of Education will vote on this proposal on September 22nd. The Mesa PTO cannot officially endorse any advocacy group or its emails, petitions, lawsuits, or other efforts. We do however encourage families to advocate in whatever way feels right to them. The PTO will remain focused on fundraising, teacher appreciation, events, and community building. If Mesa and Bear Creek merge, we will also focus on bringing the two PTOs and communities together in a way that is most positive and productive for our school community. The Mesa Parent Advocacy Committee will independently continue its advocacy work with BVSD and the Board. Here's an outline of what was done and here’s a draft of the communications we have so far.
